17 SJAM Officers, range from Deputy State Commander to Area Staff Officer to NCO, headed by State Commander Mr. Burnard Yeo, paid a courtesy visit to SJAM Penang on Friday 10th April. Received by the State Commander, Dato’ Dr. Yee Thiam Sun and officers, our visitors attended a simple welcome dinner.
Officers from both states actively participated the whole session: exchange of experiences, knowledge, and opinions.

We learnt from Selangor:

  1. They are launching the State Wide Emergency Ambulance Service – with more than 40 ambulances stationed in government hospitals.
    • Ambulances will be dispatched with one Medical Assistant from the hospital.
  2. SJAM-KPS Foundation is on the way to registration.
    • The foundation is looking forward for SJAM to be self-sustain.
  3. They impose pre-requisition for SJAM Officers’ Promotion.
    • Majority of SJAM Selangor officers are trainers.

The session follows with a site visit to SJAM EMAS Penang Bayan Baru Station. Mr. Teh Kwan Liek, Mr. Oi Siou Hean and Mr. Tan Chooi Poh welcomed the visitors and briefed them how EMAS Penang operates.
Officers from both states learnt a lot from each others. See you in Selangor!
